Privacy Policy

PerfumeTaster LLC (“we,” “us”) operates perfumetaster.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. In plain English: we collect only what’s needed to ship decants to your door and keep the store working. We never sell your data.

1. What we collect

• Order info — name, email, shipping address, order items. Needed to fulfill and ship your order.
• Account info — if you register, we store your email and a bcrypt-hashed password. We never see your plain-text password.
• Payment info — processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We receive only a transaction ID and the last 4 digits for receipts.
• Usage data— aggregated, anonymous page-view metrics (pages visited, device type) so we can fix what’s broken. No cross-site tracking.
• Email-list opt-ins — if you sign up for our newsletter, we store your email and any promo-code you redeemed. Unsubscribe anytime.

2. What we do with it

• Fulfill your orders (printing labels, tracking shipments).
• Contact you about your order (confirmations, shipping updates).
• Send you marketing email if (and only if) you asked us to.
• Improve the site (aggregated analytics only — never tied to your identity).
• Comply with legal requests (subpoenas, tax reporting).

3. What we never do

• Sell your data to anyone.
• Share your email with advertisers or data brokers.
• Track you across other websites.
• Store your payment card number on our servers.

4. Who sees your data

Only a small set of service providers, each bound by their own privacy and security commitments:

• Stripe — payment processing.
• USPS — shipping (label + tracking).
• Our VPS host — the server that runs this site.
• Our email provider — sending transactional and marketing email.

5. Cookies

We use cookies for three things: keeping you logged in, remembering your cart across page loads, and anonymous analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site (like checkout) won’t work without them.

6. Your rights

If you’re in California, the EU, or the UK, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold on you.
• Correct any inaccurate data.
• Delete your account and all associated data.
• Opt out of marketing email (unsubscribe link in every email).
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format.

Email privacy@perfumetaster.com to exercise any of these rights. We respond within 30 days.

7. Children

PerfumeTaster is not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, email us and we’ll delete it immediately.

8. Data retention

Order records are kept for 7 years for tax and legal reasons. Accounts can be deleted at any time from your account settings or by emailing us. When you delete your account, we purge all personally identifiable data except what tax law requires us to keep.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we’ll email every registered user at least 14 days before they take effect. The current version lives at this URL, and the “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
